Correctable Error - Situation?

Player A1 is fouled by B2.

Team A inbounds the ball and during their possession Team B steals a pass and drives to the other end and scores. Team A inbounds the ball and as they are bring the ball up court the table sounds the horn and lets the officials know that the previous foul by B2 was the 7th team foul and A1 should have been awarded a 1&1 bonus freethrow.

Is this a correctable error? Was it “caught” within the correct timeframe? How would it be enforced.

It is a correctable error, however no it was not caught in time. A retains possession of the ball for a throw in.

It is not within the allowed time period to correct. The reason is that once Team B scored, that was the first dead ball after the error and that would have been the time limit when you could have corrected it. Once Team A inbounded the ball, it was too late to correct. I know this because it bit me in the ass last year...

OK.. so let's say the table buzzed the horn immediately after the basket by B before A inbounded the all. At that time it would have been within the timeframe.

The enforcement would be to shoot the free throws with the lane cleared... resume play at point of interruption with Team A entitled to a throw in on the endline entitled to run the endline.

correct??

There's a lot of case plays.
Change of possession so we know we are going POI. Free throws are done with no one on the line.

Step:

1) Foul was called

2) Error was made

3) Ball was made live(properly started)

4) Errors must be recognized by officials no later than during the first dead ball after the clock is properly started.

TLR(Kinda) One live ball. No second live ball. We can fix

How many times did the ball become dead after the error in the OP and before the error was discovered?

Nope on #4. The ball became dead after the score by B. The officials needed to catch the error prior to the ensuing throw-in starting.
