Fashion Violations
Always see fashion comments here and have expressed my confusion on the forums but here is a great example of the rule just not being enforced.
This is one of the most high profile games of the pre season and kids clearly have different color leggings. Chino Hills HS Basketball Video "MPHC Championship Game: Chino Hills & Redondo Union" | MaxPreps |

I just looked at the first couple minutes, but as far as I could tell, all the players from green had black leggings, and the guys in red all seemed to have white compression shorts/knee pads.
Did I miss something?

I'm with you. I was reluctant to post, figuring I'd missed something.
Granted, I only focused on the leggings due to the nature of the OP, but I didn't see anything. |

There was one that I couldn't tell if it was black or dark blue, but I thought also thought maybe it was the poor quality of the video.

The New Gray ???
Last week I called a team "Black" until midway through the second period when I took a close look at a "Black" inbounding player and observed that the uniforms were actually dark blue.

And Chino Hills can def be described as just this. They were here (Springfield mo) last year for the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions and it was hard to tell if their unis were black or dark blue. And their numbers were hard to read, almost blended in with jersey. The Ball kids (Lonzo is the better one) can fricking play. Very smooth. I wish I had a cool signature |

Didn't watch the video and I'm not familiar with the teams but IF this is one of those "made for TV" games, then it's entirely possible that the officials were instrcted not to enforce any such violations.
IF it's a "regular, albeit high-profile" game, then never mind. |

[QUOTE=BDevil15;974778]Always see fashion comments here and have expressed my confusion on the forums but here is a great example of the rule just not being enforced.
This is one of the most high profile games of the pre season and kids clearly have different color leggings. I can see that at least one of the darker team' players is wearing black leggings, while the others are wearing whatever that predominant team color is (blue or green). Here's one that baffles me: Can the players wear those leggings with that dark piping? A few - if not all the red team members are wearing them (the piping is dark). Also; we have compression shorts, compression tights, knee pad leggings-thingys and then the compression undergarments that players are now wearing - which are slightly visible when they're walking. It's a frigging fashion show out there - I'm glad NFHS is trying to get this under control... but I feel like the under armor and the Nike manufacturers are yanking our chains here. |
