Looking for some 3-man guidance.

Was fortunate to be selected to work the sectional tournament in Indiana. Will be only my second through fifth games working three-man. Four Games, I'll work U3, U1, HP, U3 in that order. U1, is inside with runners at second and second and third only correct? Any other pointers or tips? I have the CCA manual that I have been reviewing.

With two outs, some manuals have U1 back in A and U3 in C in the above situations. I don't have the CCA but you should check that.

With runner on third only U1 is back on the line. Anytime there is a runner on 1st you're on the line. Runner on 3rd only U3 would not be in C. He would be on the line.

You should be sure that's the mechanic set they are using before you spend a lot of time looking at it.

CCA keeps PU at home whenever there's an R2 or R3 -- some don't.

CCA has U3 take some tag-ups t third -- other's only when R2 and R3.

CCA lets the U1 / U3 go out from the middle.

Some send a wing umpire out on any fly ball in their area.

etc.

Whatever set you use -- look only at "your" position when studying -- learn "just" U3 for the first game, then "just" U1 for the second, etc. Don't try to learn it all at once.

Remember -- when an umpire goes out, you revert to two-man. Some tend to forget that, which can lead to embarrassing problems.

Again, depending on the mechanics used, not always true.
