Winning Run?
NFHS Rules
With the score tied in the last inning and 2 outs, the home team has bases loaded. The batter draws a walk. R3 touches home, R2 advances to 3rd but R1 & the BR do not touch their bases (2nd & 1st). The home team is celebrating. The infielders all start to leave the field and are at or near their dugout. F8 calls for the ball from F2, who is one step from the dugout, then F8 steps on 2nd base with the ball in hand. What's the ruling please... The ruling on the field was: Run scores since it was an appeal play, game over.

It is an appeal play. It's also a force out. No run.
Appeals at the end of the game can be made until the umpires leave the field.
