re-entry Little League

Here is the sititutation:

Player A started the game and after playing 6 defensive outs and one at bat and was removed for Player B.
Player B has played 6 defensive outs and one at bat. In the top of the last inning can Player A re enter as a pinch hitter?

Also can two started re enter the game in the same inning?

Thank you

B can bat for A and A only.
Yes they can reenter in the same inning, but remember that they occupy one lineup slot - neither can re-enter in another slot (so they can reenter in the same inning, but can't be in the game at the same time).

No No No

In LL regular season the starter can re-enter in ANY position in the lineup after his sub has batted once and played 6 consecutive defensive outs.

It's only in the tournament that hew has to re-enter in the same slot.

Mrrgghhh... not only did I not see the title (LL Baseball), but I answered with softball rules on the brain.

I'll stop commenting until the coffee kicks in!

Yes, A can re-enter for anyone except a substitute who hasn't met the mandatory play requirement. For example, if Player C was replaced by Player D, and D hasn't played six consecutive defensive outs and one at-bat, then A cannot pinch-hit for D.

And Yes, there is no restriction on how many starters may re-enter in an inning.

Are you saying LL and FED have rules that you find difficult to understand? By omission are you saying that you have the NCAA DH rule, the NCAA ejection rules, the OBR DH rule, and the OBR DH rule when leagues allow reentry, aced.

I'm not sure who was first.

And both are there to maximize participation.

The FED rule isn't that hard to understand:

(1) Any starter may reenter once in the same slot in the batting order he originally occupied.

(2) Both the DH and the player he's DHing for are considered starters.

I understand the rule. I was being sarcastic.

I remember coaching in Europe playing under Lilttle League. During the season I would substitute normally, then found out later about the difference between reg season and Turny play.

Just seemed weird to play a whole season one way and have to change during playoffs..

Rich, did they change it over the years?

I thought it was during the playoffs you can re-enter anywhere in the line up.

I never did figure it out

Regular season sub rule hasn't changed in decades.

T-Rules change periodically.
