Little League, playing 9-12 pros and cons

I am involved in Little League in my town...a while back kids ages 9-12 all played together... it was then divided into 9&10 and then 11&12....our numbers have been fewer over the last few years..and we have been discussing combining the 9-12 again and having an 11&12 year old major..and a 9-12 yr old minor league...what are the thoughts out there.

Assuming you mean a chartered LL.

You can divide them as you find necessary with one exception - 12's must be in majors.

Most leagues overlap ages, mainly so a 10 or 11 can be selected to either minors or majors.

Having a 9 in majors should be exceedingly rare.

I know there are LL umpires on here, but what does this have to do with umpiring?

Because in LL the UIC is usually on the board, thus a league official.

I'm not sure what is gained by being anything but nice to people who stumble on our little corner of the Internet.

Spammers excluded, of course. Based on my limited experience helping to administer this board, I wish they would all go throw themselves into rush hour traffic.

Been there, done that.

But I know a few UICs of some associations, and their lives aren't anymore joyful. It's not limited to just LL.

A) No need for the rudeness to the new guy.

B) There is officiating a game, and there is officiating a league. This is not umpires.com.
