The Third Team

If you get a chance to watch/record the MLB Network show on the 2012 World Series umpires, do it. It's a great hour.

Dan Iassogna worked his first World Series and he seemed like a kid in a candy store during the entire show. Then he followed it up by working a great plate and great series.

They're re-showing it every so often - I missed it last night but caught it this afternoon. It was fun to watch.

If the show has any success, they'll print a disc you can buy or rent.

If anyone notices a listing for the show in the next couple of weeks, please post it on here so we can try and watch. I check this forum a LOT more than I check the MLB network schedule.

You will never look at Joe West in the same light again.

Watched it last night. After 30+ years of umping college ball the sentiments are much the same when achieving a high level tournament. They go by VERY fast and are a satisfying reward for lots of hard work - and leave you wanting more.
And, as I have said many times before, it's not the games you work, it's who you do them with. That sentiment was very obvious as well. Good show!

mlb 3rd team

I loved the show, it reminded me of why I love doing what we do....the game, my partners, the comraderie, the dish, teaching......I loved it so much I contacted mlb network to request more umpire content. Certainly MLB network is game /player focused but here in the offseason, umpire content could find an audience.....

I urge you to do the same....
