Tim Welke - missed call
|
Do you think he did it on purpose? If so, he is a cheat. I highly doubt he booted the call on purpose. We are human. We've all missed calls, get over it.

Welke obviously didn't adjust for the off throw; otherwise, he would have clearly seen the "way pulled" foot. As I have been told, "Get back to fundamentals..."

Close enough for government work.

I wonder if Donnie asked him to get help from the plate umpire, who would have clearly seen the pulled foot.
I wonder if Welke would have considered getting help, if asked to. |
If I'm asked, I always check with the plate umpire. My goal is to get the play right.

But if I'm blocked out, or somehow not getting a good look at the play, I've got no trouble asking of help, if the proper procedure is followed. In this case, I'm pretty sure Welke wasn't asked to get help. And therein lies the problem. You gotta ask the right question, when you're a manager. You always ask the umpire "What did you have on that?", and go from there. |

The coach doesn't want the call right, he wants it to go his way. |

How many "rounds" will he have to buy because of this one?
