FED - Coaches interference
I recently missed this question on my FED test (still got a 95%) and would like some additional discussion. The question read exactly as follows:
With a runner on third, the batter hits a high pop fly that drifts over foul territory. The third baseman is accidentally prevented from catching the ball by the runner at third base. a.The coach is restricted to the bench and the coaching box must remain unoccupied. b.Foul ball. c.The batter is out. d.The runner at third is out. they said the correct answer was "d" In the test review they listed 8-4-2(g) as their reference. (i'm skeptical) I used 7-4-1(f) to arrive at my answer of "c" which was counted as incorrect. Is the FED ruling on this different than in OBR? Last edited by rbmartin; Sat Mar 17, 2012 at 12:39pm. No sir. I didn't miss it. I just didn't think it applied since I thought the coach had interfered.
