The only reason umpires get paid so little is that there are so many willing to do it. It's simple supply and demand.

Honestly, who is working instructional league ball, living in Super 8s, and eating road food with nearly no hope of making a decent living? These aren't the brightest cats around.

So do they really think if they walk a picket line outside the Lansing Lugnuts Stadium that their "brothers" won't cross it? Really? Come on now, everyone hates umpires. And you get a shot at getting back at one? Hell, Jimmy Hoffa is going to reappear and cross that line.
