Platecoat

Hey guys,

I have wanted a platecoat for several years, unfortunately I have been unable to pull the trigger on a $350.00+ dollar purchase. Anybody out there looking to sell a good plate coat or know of any good deals. Size 48 or 50. Thanks for any help.

Another Alternative

Try All-American sports shop in New Jersey. They have black Fetcheimer Plate coats at $250. I just got mine, and it seems like it is a well-made coat.

You also might want to try umpire.org, and their "swap shop" thread.

Good idea to get a plate coat, even if it is expensive it is worth the investment over the long haul.

If you do buy it you will ove it. When I bought my new black one last year from Honig's I looked at it as a game fee, but also justified it as $300 over 10 years is $30 a year and I can handle that.

Keep checking eBay. I picked a black one up yesterday for $50.

Now I just need a maroon one for working Fenway. That might be a bit tougher to find.
