Umpires and the Media

Seems to me a headline/article such as this is pretty rare (yes/no?).

Umpire accuses Posada of 'cheap shot' | Truth&Rumors | FanNation

Is there any guidance at the Major League (and/or lower levels) as to what interaction, if any, umpires should have with the media?

Okay, so is there a credible, verifiable source?

He was asked his opinion. And it was a cheap shot. Posada is a rat, just like Jeter is a rat, just like AScrod is a rat, etc., etc., and on and on it goes....

Many are trying to figure out why Carlson received a heftier punishment than Posada.

Is MLB run by the NYY?

"Early reports said Posada had been nicked for four games. But shortly thereafter, MLB announced Posada and Carlson each got three games and an undisclosed fine."

I read that they lowered the suspension by a game if the agreed not to appeal.

Yes, and their TV outlet, ESPN.

He threw behind Posada and he doesn't play every day so his suspension may remove him from one or two games.
