So if this occurs in the other 29 MLB parks do we title the thread "Moron American?"

I agree the it was a bone head move to throw a foul ball like that back but the title should have been " Moron fan " etc.

I dunno what the title would have been. I am 41 and I have never seen a Moron American do this.

You have to admit you have a much higher percentage of morons per capita in Canada.

The percentage of morons at a Canadian ballpark is drastically higher than at an American ballpark. General society is another study.

I just piled on because it's baseball and Canadian baseball fans are ... well, they're not as smart about baseball as our fans. That's been well-established. Perhaps the thread could be titled: Typically moronic Canadian baseball fan.

Yep, in the US if someone throws something the players make them bleed before the cops get there.

Yes, it's different. At Wrigley, the moron fans throw back home run balls, and is a tradition. The outfielders know the ball is coming, as they are the Cubs' outfielders, and therefore know the mentality of their fans.

In the Toronto situation, the guy threw a foul ball back into the field and could have injured someone. Nobody is expecting (but now maybe they should) a foul ball to be thrown back onto the field.

So, believe it or not, it makes the Toronto moron more of a moron than the Chicago moron.

Candlestick Park, 1989, Dodgers vs. Giants.

Late in the game (which means the moron fan in this story had plenty of time to get plowed), a ball is fouled about 20 rows behind the plate. This moron--who was a lot like the moron in Toronto (pronounced Tronno)--picked up the ball, with a beer cup in his off hand just like the other moron, and after a brief pause, he threw the ball right between Rick Dempsey and the lefty batter, Brett Butler. Butler broke into a trot away from the plate, and Dempsey turned around with a fighter's look in his eyes. It cleared Dempsey's right ear by less than a foot, and it was a shocker to everybody, except Fernando, who just walked up and picked it up like he was fielding a grounder.

Well, five guys landed on this idiot and when the cops rushed in (Candlestick had armed, uniformed cops), they actually had to work to get the group to stop mauling the guy. They literally dragged this bleeding, semi-conscious, handcuffed drunk all the way up the stairs. I watched his feet slap the top of each step as they dragged him away.

Moronic Canadian fan behavior is always much less surprising.
