I carry two of everything I have broken, lost, misplaced, torn or forgotten at least once. And I always have plenty of stuff to lend to a partner---except cups and caps, baby. Cups and caps, you're on your own. (And hopefully my extra shoes are too big.)

It has been my experience that a back-up pair of shoe laces is lighter and takes up less space in my bag, than a spare pair of shoes....

They're in a storage bin in the car and they stay there. Also, It takes 15 minutes to change shoelaces on two shoes. When it happened to me, it was a problem. Secondly, if you have the extra shoes, it'll never happen.

You take the cake as equipment junkie. I think Tim_C can retire his-once a year-equipment post and just let you take over. However, just for posterity and history's sake, I still want to see Tim_C's list once a year. Come on Kev, get movin. Before you retire, maybe you can drive around in an 18 wheeler full of gear. Maybe they'll think you are with NASCAR--uden,uden.

That may be part of the problem.

I am not hammering you for all the stuff you carry around, but you need to reevaluate the time it takes to replace a broken shoelace.
