What level of ball do you call?

I just attended the International Umpires Camp in Atlanta last weekend. It was hosted by Tony Thompson, assigner for multiple college conferences in the south. I knew that before I attended. What I was surprised to find out is that Tony also is the assigner or significant member/President of The Multi-County Umpires Association which handles most of the youth ball and high school ball in the greater Atlanta area. A good number of Multi-County members were at the camp and they were good umpires. An impressive group. There is also the local college association, Southern Collegiate Umpires Association. Tony assigns local college non-conference games through that association. Another excellent group of umpires. Many do and will soon be calling D1 games for Tony and the conferences he manages.

Tony has a website for his camps that contains his e-mail and phone contact information.

I hope this helps some.

I am sure there are other associations but these two seem to have what I would deem as better umpires, dedicated to the profession/avocation.

Good luck in your new location LMan.

This is kind of weird...I was just wondering where you disappeared to again.

WJR runs an association in the ATL. Look him up and see how that works out for you, Lman.

Umpire Association

Depending on what side of Atlanta you live in can be a big issue as far as associations and games.
I am with Marietta Umpires and am recording secretary. we cover all of Cobb Cherokee, Bartow, N Fulton, Paulding schools.
We would be more than happy to give you more info if interested
home
Tony Thompson's group Multi County calls Gwinett area games
Jack Martin group Tara Umpirescovers south atlanta games
Jack and Tony both run Southern collegiate if you are interested in college.
There are a few other smaller assoc. but we are the big 3 and would be more than happy in leading to what would work best for you.
You can check GHSA.net go to official assoc for contacts and numbers of all associations.
Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
