Infielder Tapping Glove: Obstruction???
R1 and R2. PU warns F6 that he can only tap his glove when he is between the runner and 2B. F6 does it again and PU call obstruction and awards R2
3B. The coach asks me to overturn the call and asks me for the rule interpretation. I told the coach to talk to PU. PU told me after the game that this is a point of emphasis from his association meetings. The only rule which is close seems to be fake tag obstruction. Am I missing something? |

njdevs00cup,
The only thing you are missing is that the PU is a moron, and, if what he says is true, his association should be switched to officiating So@@er. (My apologies for the offensive language.) JM

Ok,
Here's an idea:
Since it is obvious that you know this guy please have him use your account to PM either Coach JM, Steve, Ozzy, Bob Jenkins or myself and explain why he thinks this is the rule and where the interp came from . . . then we wouldn't flame him in public and we could save one more umpire from being stupid. Regards, |
