Steve,

We just went through this last December. The USA is a representative democracy, and also a republic. You don't have to take my word for it-- just look it up in any dictionary. Or try Wikipedia for "republic".

By the way, "representative republic" is a redundant phrase.

Well, FED says to tell the pitcher to pick an arm and go from there. I'd probably do the same for OBR as well.
