Tournement Play

During LL tournament play, are you allowed to switch player positions during the inning? i.e. moving a second basement to center field and the center field to second base while there is 1 out and a runner on base.

Of course. Positions are "traditional". With the exception of the catcher and pitcher, players can be positioned anywhere in fair territory.

(You know it doesn't change the batting order - right?)

in a word...yes. But you might ask for time first and ask nicely cause we don't always give it.

Hey LL Dad. You might want to get ahold of a rule book. They are pretty informative in the long run. Absent that, maybe sit down with the TD or your league UIC? Do you coach, or are you just an interested spectator?

He sounds to me like a *future* Little League volunteer turned *future* umpire.

In some cases, it could mean just kidding.
In this case, I think, it means an honest laugh with honest humor.

No need for time to be called, don't allow it, even if they ask. If two players can't swap positions without calling time what is the world coming to? Delays the game to call time because it takes a half second to put the ball back in play.
