Thumbs up First Big Boy Game

I have been umpiring for 3 years and finally the association gave me a college-level summer game. I have seen fastballs in the 90s but I have to admit this was really different. The players were faster (and cuter!).

I had the dish and BU and it was fun. Almost got hit at BU "C" with a line drive; did I mention I hate metal bats in the hands of muscular, almost-grown men?

The hardest thing? Players kept calling me "Ma'am".

Bren, I got hit in the B position during a college level game and I don't know what hurt more, my pride or my leg!! I saw the ball clearly off the bat and I moved but the darn thing had eyes and found me. LOL

Good Job!!!

If we were working together, I'd probably be calling you ma'am myself. And my guess is that I'm older than you. I know you're not really offended by it, but just chalk it up to some parents still rearing their children right.
