I have a question for the Illinois umpires. When you work games in the summer, do you normally get paid on the field, through voucher, or by your particular association or assignor?

Generally, paid on the field.

Legion ball pays you on the spot. Summer college league pays twice in the season - once about July 1st and once at the end of the playoffs about August 6th.
Those are the only two situations I can offer input toward.

one league for one of the associations i work for pays at the field. the rest are through the associations every few weeks
