Interference question

In FED, a runner interfering with a fielder can result in a double play if the interference took away a chance at the DP.(8-4-1-h) Is this also anywhere in OBR?

7.09
e) If, in the judgment of the umpire, a base runner willfully and deliberately interferes with a batted ball or a fielder in the act of fielding a batted ball with the obvious intent to break up a double play, the ball is dead. The umpire shall call the runner out for interference and also call out the batter-runner because of the action of his teammate. In no event may bases be run or runs scored because of such action by a runner.
(f) If, in the judgment of the umpire, a batter-runner willfully and deliberately interferes with a batted ball or a fielder in the act of fielding a batted ball, with the obvious intent to break up a double play, the ball is dead; the umpire shall call the batter-runner out for interference and shall also call out the runner who had advanced closest to the home plate regardless where the double play might have been possible. In no event shall bases be run because of such interference.

OBR is different

Here's the OBR rule

OBR 7.09
It is interference by a batter or a runner when --

(e) If, in the judgment of the umpire, a base runner willfully and deliberately interferes with a batted ball or a fielder in the act of fielding a batted ball with the obvious intent to break up a double play, the ball is dead. The umpire shall call the runner out for interference and also call out the batter-runner because of the action of his teammate.

In FED the Umpire has more leeway to call a DP. In FED the OBR language willfully and deliberately with Obvious intent is not present.

Therefore, in an OBR based game one will hardly see a DP called on runner interference because of the strict language. In addition OBR does not have the FPSR as does FED / NCAA.

On a batted ball, if the runner interferes with the fielder I get 2 outs even in OBR.

I can always sell intent!!

I didn't mean anyone could sell intent.

I can recommend a couple of good training classes for you though.
