In no event may bases be run or runs scored because of such action by a runner. Here's the OBR rule OBR 7.09 It is interference by a batter or a runner when -- (e) If, in the judgment of the umpire, a base runner willfully and deliberately interferes with a batted ball or a fielder in the act of fielding a batted ball with the obvious intent to break up a double play, the ball is dead. The umpire shall call the runner out for interference and also call out the batter-runner because of the action of his teammate. In FED the Umpire has more leeway to call a DP. In FED the OBR language willfully and deliberately with Obvious intent is not present. Therefore, in an OBR based game one will hardly see a DP called on runner interference because of the strict language. In addition OBR does not have the FPSR as does FED / NCAA. Pete Booth

I didn't mean anyone could sell intent. I can recommend a couple of good training classes for you though. |
