Most Wonderful Time . . .

I know some of you folks don't like the small diamond talk here, but it is the heart of Little League All-Star season. To commemorate this occasion, I wrote up the following little ditty:

It's the most wonderful time of the year.
When the plays you are calling,
make parents start brawling,
as you roast in your gear.
It's the most wonderful time of the year.

There'll be mass substitutions,
assault prosecutions and
kids who think they'll go pro.
There'll be tourney directors and
obnoxious hecklers who presume
all umpires blow.

It's the most wonderful time of the year.
There'll be ugly ejections,
and police protection
when all you want is a beer.
It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Uhh Jim.... I think it's time for you to go to bed now - you've had a long nite on the small diamond. Get some rest bud, you'll feel better in the morning

Awww, it's just a little fun. I haven't worked a small diamond game since about 2002.

None for me since last year. But I am working a LL Senior Regional starting August 3.

Last year we had an almost surreal day working the WI State Senior tourney. Thermometer on my car read 106, my partner tossed one of the managers in game one and I had an 80-year-old or so grandmother removed in game 2. She used language that would make a sailor blush.

Thanks for bringing back the memories, Jim. Working LL was an experience I won't soon forget, I enjoyed the vast majority of it!!
