I'd be happy to have you come watch me umpire. I live about 1 hour 30 minutes from the GTA. I have only got one game right now but in about a week the assignor will start assigning a lot more. Hopefully you can see me do a doubleheader or something to make it worth the trip. We can go for a few beers after the game as I'm 19.

I also plan on being at Cooperstown Dreams Park on the last week of July.

Edit: I don't expect any payment for inviting you to watch me umpire.

Having followed this thread, I would like to say....

1. That I am wholeheartedly in concurrence with Brian's remarks on the subject at hand,

and...

2. I'm a little disappointed in myself for not coming up with a way to say it as well as he did.

I would be willing to depart from my schedule for a day because after reading candaump6's posts I'm convinced watching him umpire would be extremely entertaining, possibly hilarious, and certainly worth the discounted currency.

There's a great restaurant/bar with some really good beers down by the docks in Vancouver Island. Good beer, great views, food was pretty good, did I mention some really good beer?

Wait a minute, I haven't put my two cents worth in yet.

You can't legally close this God-forsaken thread down until SDS has his say.

Here is my query: why in the world would anybody start a thread out ranting about closing threads in the first place? What possible good could result from it? This inquiring mind wants to know.

Has Las Vegas set odds on how long this thread stays open?

Hey all,

If I heard the story correctly, Las Vegas was going to set odds, but looked at the original post and decided the intelligence factor was on the "under" side, replies were on the "over" side. This whole thread deserves a "push".

That being said, Friday at 3:08pm EST. Almost even money!

CDump - the purpose of posting here is to learn how to improve our umpiring skills ... both by answering questions posted by others and by asking questions about situations that happened to us - and getting/giving feedback.

The purpose of posting here is NOT to test the hydrolic theory of aggression, nor the theories of an amateur Psychology student slash bad umpire.

Fixed that for you.

I've almost convinced myself that he's doing this solely as a psych 'project' for some class he has, and in reality he's having the last laugh here. Next, he'll post as 'Coach Jinx' to test the 'aggressive' side of 'passive-aggressive'

you live 1 1/2 hours from GTA, North south east or west. I'm in the GTA. I would love to ump with you see what can be done.
