Does Anyone Else Still Have To Wait To Umpire?

Wow, it's still around a month until what I am assuming will be my first game. I hate the 8 month offseason in Canada. Anybody else know what I mean?

No, not really. I work my 23rd game of the HS regular season tomorrow and have 3 more this weekend. You need to move south.

Wow, where abouts do you live to have baseball season start that late? I hope that baseball ends at least by the beginning of October so that you can get a 4 month umpiring season in. That's all I do; beginning of May till beginning of September.

Cool

canadaump06,

I've worked three games here (Chicago area) so far this year. First two games were last week, and it was in the 70s for both of them. Worked one this week, it was in the mid-60s - pretty nice for this time of year around here all the way around.

I'm scheduled to work a DH starting at 10:00AM this Saturday. Forecast is a high of 36, low of 28, "flurries" and a North wind thrown in for good measure. I'm feeling cold already.

JM

Angry It Is Snowing!!!!

IT'S SNOWING! My lawn is white! Just Tuesday, I was wearing a t-shirt! UUUURRRRGGGGHHHHH!

Our high school season started 3/28, but our Little League season doesn't start until 4/28.

Chompin' at the bit! I'm hoping for some scrimmage games.

WOW!! Maybe you guys should move a little farther south. We have been going since late January. Of course we go all year round here. Gotta love South Florida.

Some of us are doing other sports in January. I have only done the number of games because I am starting later than many at this time of year. Usually I will not work my first game until April.

Peace

Wow, what a concept! People that do other sports. Please tell me it's not true! What makes you think that I don't do other sports as well? Let's see, I guess we don't play football and basketball here. I was just stating that the "baseball season" starts earlier here.
