I have been umpiring college for two years now, and I haven't had any problems. I wear the GD patent leathers and they look great under the lights. I have had many compliments.

I had a pair for 3 years that never got scratched up through several hundred games. What did happen is that the inside back of the shoe was worn and the cloth ripped exposing the sole that made it uncomfortable. Other than that, they are the best shoes on the market. I just spray them down with water after everygame and apply a little shoe shine to the sole part and they look brand new.

My are blown out at the heals also. Mine have a little scrape mark, but nothing worth sending in for repair. A fine shoe, and if it weren't for the lining they'd be perfect. I'm not sure if I'll buy another pair, or go back to +POS's when I need to swap them out. The +POS's last forever, the GD's about 3 years, or so.

i have heard good things about +POS shoes. I am not into having shoes shine if they only last a couple of years. I would rather get a +POS shoe and have it last 2 or 3 times longer. Especially at the same price.
