I think that he assumed the content of the link was directed at him, rather than simply being an amusing diversion connected to the word "touché."

But we all know what happens when you ASSume.

I cut the excess off, then stitch the straps in place. That way they don't come loose or unraveled. I do the same thing with my shinguards and chest protector straps.
This WAS the topic of discussion, wasn't it?
