I think I understood your point, and as I understand it your point is wrong. Interference is not an immediate dead ball. It is not immediately dead on batter interference, for example.

I guess I won't repeat my entire post. You might try reading it again.

The original post was about what is traditionally used. Catcher's Interference is called Catcher's Interference in OBR. That is why we refer to it as such. There is also Umpire Interference. Should we then change that to Umpire's Obstruction? NO.

INT does not = immediate dead ball always. Batter's and Catcher's INT is not immediately dead.

OBS does not = delayed dead ball always. Type A results in an immediate dead ball.

I wouldn't look for OBR to change CI to CO anytime soon.

That's certainly one way to define the words "interference" and "obstruction." Most of us don't define them that way, though (nor do we want to).

I think most of us want to define the words as:

Interference: A violation by the offense or the umpire.
Obstruction: A violation by the defense

With the exception of "Catcher's interference" in OBR, I think this is how the terms are used. Either can be immediate dead ball or delayed dead ball (ignoring for the moment those who say there is no such thing in OBR), depending on the circumstances and the code.
