Wah. Wah. Wah.

It's not Greg Gibson's fault the Phillies suck.

They *suck*?

I'm assuming you're a Mets fan. You must feel great about them losing 7 of 8 coming up to the playoffs. And Pedro looked good last night. They'll be playing golf in another week and a half.

Oh, and Rob Drake was U1. Gibson was the PU.

Yes. The Phillies suck. Winning teams don't make excuses for mistakes, whether they make them or umpires do.

And I mentioned Greg because the article went on ad naseum about him, seeingly blaming him for not "correcting" Drake.

Bitter Philthies fan, Rich?

I'm not bitter at all. And such an original and cute twisting of their name, too! If I had a D battery I'd throw it in your direction.

The Phillies have been pretty quiet about the call, actually. Just cause big-mouth Bill Conlin writes a column doesn't mean the Phils have been whining about it. I read articles coming from the Philly press the day after and the first base coach thought it was foul, too, and signalled as much to the dugout. There was no argument on the field.

In all seriousness, the Mets ran away and hid this season. Good for the Mets. But if the Phillies make up the game on the Dodgers and win the Wild Card, they will be a more dangerous team in the playoffs. The Mets and Cardinals SHOULD be worried. They've lost so many games in the last few weeks you wonder if they will be able to turn it on again.

Why am I not surprised?

If you watched anything on ESPN about the game, Charlie Manuel was *****ing about it, saying the ball "obviously changed direction and hit the pole" (paraphrasing there). So don't tell me that just because they were "quiet on the field" they haven't been whining.

Possibly because you're dense and missed the irony?

Hehehe,

Nah Garth, he's just too young to get it?

I read an article once that said a sense-of-humor is not fully developed until age 26.

That helped me understand the "jackass" movies better.

Regards,

Call It Like I See It.

One upmanship at it's best times three. Time to lock the thread, I do believe.
