I read articles coming from the Philly press the day after and the first base coach thought it was foul, too, and signalled as much to the dugout. There was no argument on the field.

If you watched anything on ESPN about the game, Charlie Manuel was *****ing about it, saying the ball "obviously changed direction and hit the pole" (paraphrasing there). So don't tell me that just because they were "quiet on the field" they haven't been whining.
