I hand them to the home team coach or manager at the end of game. If he was a real a**h**** during the game, I keep the balls and use them for batting practice with my two kids.

And how does this stick it to the a**h**** coach. I would bet he doesn't purchase the balls. You're penalizing the league by keeping the balls.

Well, it obviously keeps the AH coach from realizing any further utility from those particular baseballs, irrespective of who paid for them originally.

Out (#3) !

Toss the balls in your bag, hit the road.

Staying for the hand shake, just give unhappy players and coaches more opportunity to grind on you.

Staying for the handshake is a Little League policy. It's OK for LL, because they have rules governing how umpires are treated.

There's a saying for basketball officials that applies here. "Get in. Get it done. Get out."

Nah, I don't think so. They just go in his bucket for utility use. Like I said, I keep them and use the balls for batting practice with my two kids. It's a pay supplement.
