Question Baseball Diamond dimensions

Can anybody tell me

1. The accepted line width for marking out - 2 inches?
2. In the official baseall rules and the batters box dimensions - are these to the inside, outside or centre of the line.

I know this is probably 'picky' but I am making up a set out frame and may as well get it spot on

All the best

90-foot Diamond Size

On 90 feet diamond, 4 feet by 6 feet, 6 inches from plate, even with center of plate 8 and 1/2 inches from front or back. Catcher's box is 43 inches wide and 6 feet from back of batter's box. See diagram 2 in FED rule book.

http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/20...ball_rules.pdf, page 17 show slightly different dimensions.

Good luck.

Thanks SAump

But you obviously misunderstood my question.

1. What is the standard line width as used in USA major league games.. is it 2, 3, 4 etc inches and

2. For the dimensions given in the book, are they to the inside, outside or centre of the line that is marked???

Regards

Unless I am mistaken, SAump has provided a response which is:

1. Coherent.

2. On point.

3. Correct.

Maybe the Cubs are going to win the World Series this year.

The lines are just lines. The chalk used to mark them is:

For a batter's or catcher's box - inside the lines.

For the foul lines - completely on the fair side.

There is no specified width to the chalk marks. Generally a 2" line looks better on a small field and a 4" on a large field.
