I was curious about the Olympics and the rules and dimensions for baseball. In the 1976 Olympic games, all sports were converted to metric. All countries followed in this trend, and now, the United States is the last to convert. Baseball and football are American sports and the dimensions of the fields are not metric. I was wondering how they dealt with this problem at the Olympics. Did they use inches/feet or centimeters/meters in the dimensions when building the stadium in Athens?

It makes no difference what they used, the pitcher's plate was 60'6" from home, but it was also 18.44 meters.

The distance from home to first was 90', but it was also 27.43 meters.

It's not what you use, it's just what you call it.

In 1996, Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, home of the Atlanta Braves at that time, was used for the Olympics, with no changes to the dimensions.

In 1980, Dodger Stadium was used, again, with no changes.
