Has anyone ever heard of such?

"If you step out of the batter's box and get hit by the ball, you are out."

If we insert the words "..fair, batted ..." after "..hit by the..." and before "...ball...": you betcha!.

Pitched/ thrown ball: no way - this is baseball, not dodgeball.

MLB should adopt the old neighborhood rule where if you peg the runner at any time with the ball, hes out. that would make for some fun.

Yesterday afternoon in my son's JV game, the visitor's had the bases loaded with no outs. Ground ball to the 3rd baseman deep in the hole. The 3rd baseman throws to home to force the runner on third and plunks the runner in the back of the head just before he scores.

If you bat the ball in fair ground and come out of box and the ball comes up and hits the BR, you would be called out. I had this one this year, B5 bunts ball goes directle down in fair ground, BR comes out of box with left foot clearly for me as BU, ball comes up and rides up his left arm, dead ball out. The coach of the player told me no way, he's not that quick!
