In Southern Illinois:
Many single HS games pay $35-40 Some bigger schools pay $45-55 for conference single games Some Saturday DH's pay from $90-100 They never pay travel. That is the umpires job to determine whether it is "worth it" to travel to the field or just not take the game. For reference these same HS's pay around $45-$55 a game for basketball referees both JV and Varsity. Definitely not a way to get rich being an umpire/referee in this part of the country.
