NF Question

1) Runner on 1b, ball hit to 2nd baseman who tags 2b. As he throws to 1b for a potential double play the runner at 2b intentionally hits the glove of the 2nd baseman and he drops the ball and runner is safe at 1b. Is the runner out at first even if there would not have been a play if ball was not knocked out of glove?
