Patrick...

Go to http://www.cooperstowndreamspark.com, there is a link on the home page for umpires.

As for the experience level, there were guys there who were: mostly LL/JR/SL, HS, mens leagues, College, minor leauges and independent pro league experience.

You should have your basics down. If you have good positioning, timing and you sound confident in your calls you'll have a good basis. They give a quick rundown on where they'd like you positioned.

Do some studying of 3 and 4 man mechanics if you haven't done them before because you will get a chance there.

Then when you go enjoy the umpiring experience of a life time (I have to qualify the umpiring part because otherwise my wife might kill me). You will grow more in that one week of umpiring than you might otherwise in 1 or 2 seasons easily.

You'll also make 10-30 new friends you intend to keep forever. (assuming Randy get's us that damn list of addresses ! )

Talking

Say, Blarson, if you really want a list of email addresses I have my list from last year's group I can send you. : )

As others have stated, CDP is a great time. I am trying to get my son interested in umpiring so that he and I can go together when he reaches 18/19 (He is 13 now). Ty

I found this old post and thought I would see if there is still interest by anyone to attend Cooperstown Dreams Park as an umpire. As a team attending, we are asked to bring an umpire with us. I'm striking out with our normal crew so I'm reaching out to other resources.
We attend the week of July 16 thru 21 and would like to secure an umpire for that week.
Details can still be found on the cooperstowndreamspark.com website under the umpire section.
I'm a first year travel coach as the last coach moved on so I'm a little low on the contact side.
Anybody that wants to go can reply or send an email to me at [email protected]
Thanks - Coachjoe

Each team attending is to supply an umpire for their week of games. If you check the web site, I'm sure you can find a team looking for an ump.

I've not been able to find that information on the website. I'm going with Coach Joe's team from above, but I've got a buddy looking to hook up with a team that week as well!
