At least until a play is made on the runner in question. (For example, if R1 rounding third, assisted by coach at third, continued home and drew a throw). The other runners are liable to be put out, and also allowed to continue running bases.

A runner out for interfering with a fielder is a different sitch, as defense was specifically hampered by the interference. So you kill it in that case.

I agree delayed dead ball. I would learn towards that if the assisted runner is put out to still keep it alive becasue at that point the interference should be ignored as the offense gained no advantage, much like batter interference and the runner at 2nd or 3rd is thrown out. This way, as well, if the other runners try to advance, they are also liable to be out.

Regarding LL -

From LL's Andy K's recent chat:

Kyle, an umpire in California, asks:
Is a ball dead when a base coach physically assists a base runner?
Andy:
No. Unlike most cases of interference, itÂ’s a delayed dead ball. The ball remains alive and in play. Once all play has ended, then you call time and call the assisted runner out.

Yeah, that was me.

I stand corrected. My next question is why isn't it corrected in the book? Is there any organization that kills the play, then and there?
