It is possible that Gerry may have blinked or for some other reason he was not 100% sure so he probably went by the old addage that if it is a banger and your are not sure then who earned the call? Defense makes a good play, Out. Defense bobbled the ball, safe.
As far as saying an officail blew a call, nothing wrong with it. I have said it and I have blown some calls. No one is perfect and blowing a call is just saying he missed it. Now if you say he blew it and you are saying that because you don't have a clue what the right call or proper way of handling it is, then you are flat wrong for saying anything.
