It makes no difference what they used, the pitcher's plate was 60'6" from home, but it was also 18.44 meters.

The distance from home to first was 90', but it was also 27.43 meters.

It's not what you use, it's just what you call it.

In 1996, Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, home of the Atlanta Braves at that time, was used for the Olympics, with no changes to the dimensions.

In 1980, Dodger Stadium was used, again, with no changes.
