Not true. Even an ejected player (not a coach) is sent to the dugout.

The point is that, in some states, an Ejected player is automatically suspended for the next game. The rules committee felt this was too big of a penalty for this infraction, so they changed the penalty to restricted to the dugout. No Ejection -- no suspension.
