Not sure that was the question. Of course the catch is allowed. But is the succeeding throw home allowed? He touched the floor inside the dugout after the catch. Is this a "fall" and therefore a catch-and-carry? The rule states that the ball is dead if he "falls" into the dugout. What constitutes a fall? It is not defined. Seems to me that using the floor of the dugout to push himself up should be considered a fall.

I don't see a touch of the floor. I do see a touch of the inside of the fence.

The rule says " . . kept from an apparent fall . . ". so the fact that he was legally held up means it wasn't a fall.
