Uncaught 3rd strike--Obstruction?
USSSA--14U Uncaught 3rd strike, ball caroms off catcher toward 1st base. Catcher, while attempting to field the ball, almost trips the B/R going to 1st base. What do we have?

Unless it's in the immediate vicinity of home plate, it's OBS.

That's what I thought. However, there was no call. Then I wondered what the result of the obstruction would be. The B/R would not, in my opinion, have made it to 1st. But I don't see how you could send him back to the plate with three strikes.

OBS on the BR before he reaches first results in the BR being awarded first (unless it's a fly ball that is eventually caught -- then the catch takes precedence)
