Oz, I think he saw the miss, and also noticed that F2 did, too. Then he knew he was in for some sort of squaredance, to get the appeal correct.

F2 did a good job of not giving it away, until the BR got to the dugout (just guessing that's what he was looking for). Once he couldn't return, then the appeal was ON.

Our local Little League park has it's All Stars tourney start this weekend. I'm going down to give a three team clinic on how to make appeals, both for the players and coaches. I do it every year, and every year it comes up, and our league looks pretty smart executing appeals properly.
