NFHS cards
Had a high school match tonight in which I assessed a yellow card to an assistant coach for loudly voicing her disapproval of my decision not to call a double on her opponent.
Two questions. 1) I'm pretty sure that cards for conduct carry over throughout the rest of the match, correct? So if she were to do this again in a subsequent set, the result would be a red card. I'm pretty sure I have that right. 2) I allowed the play to finish, awarded the point, and then assessed the yellow card. But if a participant earns a red card, I think it should be assessed immediately, ending the rally. Correct? If this happens, what is the proper signal sequence? Whistle to end the rally and then. . . Award the point first, or show the card first? (I guess that was more than 2 questions.) |
