Team A and B have a good rally going. Team A hits the ball over the net. Team B's front player attempts to bump the ball. He takes his forearms and tries to direct the ball up, but instead.. the ball rolls from the fore arms, up the right arm and off his bicep area.
is this a carry??

Sounds illegal to me. The first hit on a side is allowed to be a double contact, meaning it could hit the forarm and bicep and that would be legal. BUT as you described it could NOT roll up the forarm and into the bicep. The act of rolling would IMO be prolonged contact and an illegal hit.

Dave nailed the answer!
I have found that too many players and coaches now believe "anything goes" on the first hit since FED deleted the "finger action" from the wording. I haven't had to card anybody yet, but I sure have gotten some dirty looks and protests when I call the violations because of prolonged contact on the first hit.
