Well,
My first meet went pretty good. The visiting team couldn't get locker room access for about 15 minutes, so ther meet was delayed about 20-25 minutes.

I only had 2 DQs; 1 obvious one when the 2nd leg of a relay came out of the pool and went straight to the bathroom; the other was during the 50 Breaststroke. The kid hit the wall with only one hand, and didn't bring the other near the wall for about 2 seconds. I am pretty sure about this DQ but just wanted to check here. The coach was a little upset, I almost gave him a T but then I remembered which sport I was there to officiate!

BigGref, yes, you made the right call. In breaststroke (as in butterfly), a two-hand touch is required; sounds like this one was pretty obvious.

Beetle, cut a bit of slack - why not offer help when it is asked, instead of giving a lecture?

I think its kind of funny that I posted over a year ago and just in the last week there has been more posts on S&D then the last 6 months. Maybe this could start actual occasional discussions in this forum, or not.

BigGref,

One can hope. I'm always happy to chat about swimming, even though I'm no longer involved in coaching like I used to be.
