Fechheimer vs. Smitty heather gray flat panel pants.

I know that this has been discussed ad nauseam in the past, but I would like to pose the question to those who are familiar with both brands.

I would like information as to which is the better quality pair of pants. All of my gray (both charcoal and heather) are Smitty pants.

I've been a Fechheimer man since the days I could afford real umpire pants. I, too, am in the market for pants and would enjoy hearing from those that can list the merits and shortcomings of another brand. I will note that one of the downsides of Fechheimers is that as my rear-end approaches ideal Dockers-khaki's dimensions, the Fechheimers are less comfortable on the bases, even when the waist is correct and not one size too small, as has been the case for the last couple years. It also makes the Western cut pockets hard to use, for those that put anything in their pockets between games.
