LL worlds

Were you watching the Senior LL final today?
Two bangers at 1st in 5th inning looked wrong on TV.
Anyone else have an opinion?
LL Big League is at 5:00 today (the 9th) with 2 Delaware teams.

Big League - just spent what seemed to be two minutes discussing whether it is @ 2B after the BR was tagged out, but they finally got it right, and then the coach comes out for an explanation.

How can something so simple take more than 10 seconds to figure out?

There is of course the camera angle, but there have been a couple of strike calls that looked to be awfully low and outside.

Both incorrect. Not a good inning for U1.

Big League -

Lead off in bottom of 8th, down one, double negated by out of bb call by PU. Replay clearly showed batter was in the box.

Ouch

Yep, and sort of glad the East team won. Not a fan of a team getting a berth as a host.

I should have know better than to read this now, but that just spoiled my recording watch. Oh well, mostly wanted to see Green pitch.

No, you need to see the bottom of the 8th to catch the out of the box call followed up by the player acting like a AA player and getting tossed.

Speaking of LL, I thought they were all into the instant replay. Been watching both baseball and softball LL this week and I have yet to see a replay challenge, and I have seen some calls that would easily have been overturned. Is LL not doing it anymore, or is that only when they get to Williamsport?

It's only in Williamsport. The regionals and all the other world series games won't use instant replay because they don't televise all of the games, so there are no cameras there to capture IR. Wouldn't be right to use IR in the championship game and not all the other games leading up to it.

As for the comment about the host getting an automatic berth, I think that's done to motivate different communities to host the games and provide all the volunteer help that goes along with it. What I find surprising is, more often than not, the host team makes it pretty far in the series, sometimes winning it all.

I missed the out call on the first watching so I was fumbling for the DVR remote, but when she was pointing towards the PU and clearly said "You suck" I said to my wife, "Oh she's gonna get tossed!"

The words had barely escaped when she got the heave-ho. Sure, PU booted that call at a terribly crucial time...but as a player you don't get to do that.

Finally found time to watch. I have seen Green pitch live, watched to see if her riser is as deceptive as the games I've seen, no. More impressed with Reed that day.
Yes it was a bad call and the batter should have been upset, but no excuse for bad behavior.
