Not true for all softball rule sets.
These are for NFHS only. Out of curiousity, what is the ASA rule in this regard? What about LL, NCAA, etc.?

ASA & ISF still plays real ball, you actually have to try and hit the pitch for it to be a strike.

NCAA is the same as the Fed.
