I see the application of this rule mostly debated amongst softball only umpires. Most experienced baseball umpires accept that ties should not be called without question.

How do you figure (and I really don't give a damn what baseball umpires think or accept}?
The rules clearly give you a path to make a call should the actions be simultaneous. If I follow the rule, how can I be wrong?
